Leo Rozkin became Chief Executive Officer of Solovis on Sept. 21. He joins us from Francisco Partners, where he served as an advisor and executive in residence. Before that he was Chief Executive Officer of OrderMyGear, where he scaled the business roughly fourfold. Across 16 years in software he has built and run companies, and he began his career in financial services as an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan.
He also spent years on the investor side of the table, which shapes how he thinks about this role.
Ask a chief investment officer what they would most like to understand about their portfolio and you rarely get a short answer. Ask how often they get to chase one of those questions down and the answer is once or twice a year. Answering a single one takes weeks of analyst time that no office has sitting idle, so the question gets tabled, and the committee decides on a narrower view than it might have had.
That arithmetic is familiar to Leo. He worked on the investor side before he ran software companies, and he has watched good questions get shelved for want of analyst hours.
What he is doing about it
Two things, both underway.
He is investing in the teams who work with clients every day, the people who sit between a reporting deadline and the data required to meet it.
And he is setting the direction for the platform. Solovis is built for some of the most demanding investment offices in the world, and it is now extending that foundation to serve the whole investment office. The mandate he has set is for it to become as easy to use as it is capable, and he is resourcing the teams who will build that.
Your team and your service commitments are unchanged. What changes over time is how much of the work the platform carries, and how quickly you see it. In the coming months, we will begin unveiling the new Solovis.
